PAINTING
Color and Light
Learning to see
I started painting to understand how artists captured what they saw, though my early attempts were pretty rough. Working with different mediums taught me that each has its own personality, and the most important lesson was learning to really observe-looking at something and seeing it clearly enough to paint it are two different skills. Painting taught me patience and showed me that rushing usually made things worse, while taking time to build up layers and make careful adjustments led to better results.
This trained eye for color, light, and careful observation now helps me see exactly how different tones and techniques will work with each client's unique features and skin tone.
